Mistral AI has released two powerful language models, Ministral-3B and Ministral-8B, tailored for personal computers and smaller devices.
These models outperform competitors of similar size on benchmarks for knowledge, reasoning, and coding.

- 128,000-token context window, allowing for more extensive inputs.
- Multilingual capabilities and function calling support.

IBM Granite LLM is Now Available on SAP AI Core
SAP users can now tap into the power of IBM watsonx and the IBM Granite models through the Generative AI Hub on SAP AI Core, part of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The first available model is the Granite.13b. chat large language model, offering robust AI capabilities for SAP-specific applications.
According to research from the IBM Institute for Business Value, this launch is ideal, as 56% of business executives plan to shift budgets toward SAP-focused generative AI.

Apple Releases Developer Betas with New Apple Intelligence Features
On Wednesday, Apple rolled out the developer betas for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, introducing several new Apple Intelligence features. These updates include tools like Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, Image Wand, and ChatGPT integration, enhancing users’ creative and interactive experiences.
The betas come ahead of the public release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 next week, which will bring features like writing tools, image cleanup, article summaries, and a revamped typing input for Siri.
Apple is also launching APIs for key Apple Intelligence tools:
- Writing Tools API
- Genmoji API
- Image Playground API
These APIs are designed to help developers incorporate Apple’s generative AI capabilities into their apps.
Additionally, Apple has expanded language localization for English, adding support for Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South African, and U.K. English. Broader localization for Chinese, French, German, and other languages is expected next year. However, regulatory hurdles may limit access to Apple Intelligence features in China and the EU.
