The TrustRadius Top Rated Awards represent a significant milestone in B2B technology validation. To qualify, a product must:

  • Receive at least 10 new customer reviews in the past 12 months
  • Maintain a trScore (TrustRadius score) of 7.5 or higher
  • Account for at least 0.5% of its category’s traffic volume on the platform

IBM Showcases Future of Agentic AI at AI Summit London

Lloyds Banking Group Partnership Demonstrates Value-Centric AI in Action

At the 2025 AI Summit in London, IBM unveiled a forward-looking vision for “Agentic AI”—a new class of autonomous, proactive, and intelligent systems designed to transform enterprise operations.

Positioned as the next leap beyond traditional automation and generative AI, these AI agents are poised to become digital coworkers, deeply embedded in workflows and capable of taking autonomous action.

AI Agents: A New Era of Intelligent Automation

Ritika Gunnar, IBM’s General Manager of Product Management for Data and AI, described AI agents as software entities with the autonomy to anticipate needs, learn from experience, and act independently within complex environments.

“These aren’t just dashboards. They’re doers,” Gunnar emphasized. “They don’t just report insights. They act on them—autonomously integrated across all your systems.”

IBM anticipates rapid enterprise adoption, forecasting that over 50% of organizations will embed AI agents in core business operations within the next few years. Early signs of transformation are already visible, with IBM reporting:

  • 94% of HR requests are now handled by AI
  • Sales representatives are gaining back 25% of their workweek
  • Procurement cycles accelerated by 70%

Lloyds Banking Group: AI with a Purpose

Suzanne Ellison, Head of Product at Lloyds Banking Group, joined the summit and illustrated how the financial institution applies AI to create measurable value for employees and customers.

At the heart of Lloyds’ transformation is Project Athena, an AI-driven knowledge management platform rolled out to 22,000 customer-facing staff within a year and is expected to reach 40,000 by the end of 2025.

Athena helps employees access answers instantly, resulting in a 50% cut in information retrieval time and shorter customer wait times.

The tool is especially impactful in sensitive scenarios like fraud reports or bereavement support. “It helps them have a connected conversation, instead of focusing on the process,” Ellison noted.

Real-World Applications and Responsible AI Use

Lloyds has also embedded AI into its complaints management process. An AI system summarizes incoming complaints and suggests resolution strategies based on historical outcomes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.

Importantly, Ellison reaffirmed that Lloyds views AI as a tool for augmentation, not replacement. For example, AI assists in the mortgage application process by handling data intake, freeing human advisors to focus on personalized service.

“It’s not about fewer people,” she explained. “It’s about being more productive and increasing the value of the work.”

Keys to Effective AI Adoption

Ellison highlighted several critical success factors for organizations embarking on AI adoption:

  • Focus on value: Prioritize AI use cases that solve real customer problems
  • Embed product and business leaders: Ensure alignment between tech solutions and business objectives.
  • Build for reuse: Use a producer-consumer data model to scale AI capabilities.

She stressed the importance of structured data, which enables AI agents to access and leverage enterprise knowledge through conversational interfaces or automated systems.

IBM Sets Its Sights on a Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computer by 2029

IBM has unveiled its most ambitious quantum milestone yet: building the world’s first large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer capable of executing quantum circuits with 100 million gates on 200 logical qubits.

The system, named IBM Quantum Starling, is being developed at IBM’s Poughkeepsie facility and is targeted for launch by 2029.

Introducing the Quantum Starling architecture

At the core of IBM’s roadmap is a scalable and modular design built on bivariate bicycle codes, first introduced in its 2024 Nature publication.

This architecture is designed to scale and maintain accuracy and reliability across millions of operations, which is essential for fault tolerance.

Advancements in quantum error correction

To enable such a system, IBM has released two major research papers. The first outlines the end-to-end blueprint of a fault-tolerant quantum computer based on bicycle architecture.

The second introduces a compact, real-time error correction decoder that can be implemented efficiently on FPGAs or ASICs, which is crucial for detecting and correcting errors on the fly.

Updating the roadmap to 2033 and beyond

IBM has expanded its quantum roadmap, building on a record of delivering on every milestone since 2020. This updated plan projects advancements in processor capabilities and error correction that pave the way for the realization of Starling.

IBM asserts that no other organization is currently on track to run quantum programs at this scale within the same timeframe.

Six criteria for fault-tolerant quantum systems

IBM’s architecture meets six essential requirements for scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing: it must be fault-tolerant, addressable, universal, adaptive, modular, and efficient.

These principles are the foundation for building a system capable of running meaningful, large-scale quantum algorithms.

Achieving fault-tolerant quantum computing could unlock new frontiers in optimization, drug discovery, and materials science.

ChatGPT Introduces Connectors for Seamless App Integration

OpenAI has launched a beta feature in ChatGPT called Connectors. This feature enables users to securely link third-party tools like Google Drive, GitHub, SharePoint, and more directly within the chat interface.

This update makes searching, referencing, and interacting with your data and tools easier without leaving the conversation.

What Connectors Can Do

Depending on your plan and role, Connectors allow you to:

  • Search within connected apps to complete everyday tasks.
  • Conduct deep research across multiple data sources with full citations.
  • Sync and index select knowledge sources to enhance speed and answer quality.

How ChatGPT Interacts with Connected Apps

When a connector is enabled, ChatGPT sends queries to the connected app to find relevant data. If “Memory” is enabled, ChatGPT can also use stored context (like repository names or prior tasks) to improve these queries.

For example, asking “Where did I handle file uploads in the backend?” with GitHub connected could prompt ChatGPT to search your codebase intelligently using relevant keywords and project names.

Data Privacy and Model Training

OpenAI ensures that data accessed through connectors is not used to train its models for Team, Enterprise, and Edu users.

However, such data may be used to improve models for Free, Plus, and Pro users—but only if the “Improve the model for everyone” setting is turned on.

Types of Connectors Available

  • Chat Search Connectors: Ideal for quick, on-the-fly file lookups and summaries.
  • Deep Research Connectors: Designed for in-depth tasks like competitive analysis or post-mortems, with multi-source reasoning and citations.
  • Synced Connectors: (e.g., Google Drive) Index content in advance for faster, higher-quality answers.
  • Custom Connectors: These are available to Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users. These allow admins to link internal tools or proprietary data sources using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
