A New Era of Resilient and Autonomous Computing

On July 8, IBM introduced Power11, its latest enterprise-grade server, designed to meet the growing demands of AI, automation, and always-on business operations. The server marks a significant leap in IBM’s Power platform, offering zero planned downtime, 99.9999% uptime, and integrated ransomware detection in under a minute through IBM Power Cyber Vault.

Hybrid Cloud-Ready and Scalable for Any Enterprise

Power11 supports on-premise and cloud deployments via IBM Power Virtual Server, now certified for RISE with SAP. It launches simultaneously across entry-level, mid-range, and high-end systems, providing enterprises with the flexibility and speed to modernize workloads without disruption.

The new server will be the first to support the IBM Spyre Accelerator—a purpose-built chip scheduled to arrive in Q4 2025, designed to power AI inference at scale. Availability

Pre-Built AI Agents Now Generally Available

IBM has officially launched the general availability of its watsonx Orchestrate AI agents, ushering in a new era of business automation. These agents free procurement teams from manual bottlenecks, enabling them to shift their focus toward strategic goals, such as cost savings, sourcing optimization, and risk mitigation.

IBM’s Sales Agents are designed to reduce time wasted on repetitive work and fragmented tools. From prospecting and client research to personalized email outreach, these agents help sales teams focus on what matters—closing deals.

With integrations into tools like Salesforce, Outlook, Dun & Bradstreet, and Seismic, sales professionals can access client intelligence, prioritize leads, and refine their messaging in real-time.

AWS Introduces NVIDIA Blackwell-Powered UltraServers for Next-Gen AI

AWS has announced the general availability of two powerful new compute options designed for the most demanding AI workloads: P6e-GB200 UltraServers and P6-B200 instances, both powered by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. These systems are engineered to support next-gen AI innovations such as reasoning models, agentic AI, and trillion-parameter LLMs.

P6e-GB200 UltraServers: Built for Frontier Models

The P6e-GB200 UltraServers feature 72 NVIDIA GPUs connected by fifth-gen NVLink, functioning as a single compute unit. With 360 petaflops of compute and 13.4 TB of GPU memory, they deliver 20x the compute power and 11x the memory of previous generations. Designed for ultra-large-scale model training and inference, these servers enable seamless performance with reduced communication overhead.

P6-B200: Versatile and Migration-Friendly

Ideal for medium to large AI workloads, P6-B200 instances come with 8 NVIDIA GPUs, 1.4 TB of high-bandwidth memory, and Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These instances offer up to 2.25x GPU performance and are optimized for teams looking to scale quickly with minimal code changes from prior AWS instances.

Secured by AWS Nitro and Designed for Reliability

Both systems utilize the latest AWS Nitro System, which provides strict security isolation and enables live infrastructure updates without downtime. Nitro also enhances operational control over networking, storage, and firmware, ensuring systems remain resilient under high-scale workloads.

Enhanced Infrastructure and Liquid Cooling

P6e-GB200 servers utilize liquid cooling for higher compute density, while P6-B200 relies on proven air-cooled systems. These infrastructure upgrades enable improved energy efficiency and more sustainable AI operations at a massive scale.

Seamless Deployment Across AWS Services

You can deploy both systems through Amazon SageMaker HyperPod, which automates the provisioning and monitoring of GPU clusters. For Kubernetes users, Amazon EKS supports both instance types with automated node group management and topology-aware scheduling. Additionally, P6e-GB200 will be available via NVIDIA DGX Cloud on AWS, giving teams access to NVIDIA’s full AI software stack.

Google has launched Gemini CLI, an open-source command-line interface that brings natural language-powered AI to developers’ terminals. Powered by Gemini Pro 2.5, the tool enables developers to issue and execute commands using plain English, all within the command line.

What sets Gemini CLI apart is its pricing. For most developers, it’s completely free, with up to 1,000 requests per day and 60 per minute, well above typical usage patterns. No API key or credit card is required to get started.
